Piriformis Problems

images-2Here are two of the best video’s I have found online to walk you through Piriformis issues. These two video’s discuss how a tight/problematic Piriformis muscle can often be mistaken for a Sciatic Nerve conduction problem relating to a bulging or herniated disc. The first video addresses loosening the Piriformis with a more gentle/subtle approach by using a foam roller while the second video is a more aggressive version addressing the tightness with a harder, more precise tool in this case a hard ball.

So using a “progressive” approach you would try stretching the Piriformis first, then “foam rollering” next and then finally the Myofascial Release technique seen in the second video.
